"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."
-Socrates-
Have you ever been advised against doing something that you felt was the right thing to do? Your soul feels compelled to make this move, but others assure you that you are wrong. They seemingly watch and wait for their "I told you so" moment?
Then, it happens. You do it your way. And, guess what?
Success.
Not success as measured by the ruler of others, but success the way you know it to be. You would never have realized your positive outcome had you lived by someone else's truth.
I can admit, I have no clue what I am doing out here. Hell...NO ONE actually knows what they're doing. We can walk around all day giving advice and judging others for "doing it wrong." Who actually makes the call? We're all guessing.
People live their lives according to their own conditioning. There are 8 billion people on this planet. We all make decisions based upon personal upbringing, traumas, outside influences, and experiences. Now, imagine 8 billion different life experiences. How do you think the experiences of those 8 billion people have shaped their opinions?
If you have the capacity to consider 8 billion different viewpoints, more power to you, my friend. I'll leave that to you.
We have been conditioned to think that there is some blueprint to living life and attaining major success -- to do things "the right way," if you will. We learned in grade school how to walk, talk, and think. To do the contrary is considered dangerous and antagonistic. We must walk a certain way, speak in a particular fashion, and think in a manner that is "good" and in alignment with the masses. Who made the rules? Why must we follow others' paths?
When we remind ourselves that no one in the entire universe has it all figured out, we free ourselves from the bondage of perfection. We no longer move with the herd but find comfort in straying sometimes--exploring other options and getting lost in order to find our way. We give ourselves permission to be imperfect and make mistakes that eventually lead to our life's destiny. When we acknowledge others' differences as just that, we learn to respect our own. It is okay to think differently. It is okay to be yourself--your raw, authentic self--without fear of judgment by those who have no clue what they're doing either.
Life is a series of trial and error situations. Sprinkle a couple leaps of faith here and a few calculated moves there, hoping that something sticks for the best. The trial stage takes patience and faith, which I have come to realize many humans lack. Most people are living life on the safe side, following the rules and banking on the notion that the safe side is the 'right' one. Adventures and new opportunities await us on the opposite side of others' opinions.
Life has no rules, no blueprint. God has made everything perfect. Everything, seemingly "good" and seemingly "bad," has its place in this world. Our steps our ordered. God already accounted for all of our decisions.
As time unravels, my thoughts concerning my life's path have changed. I have learned to feel into myself and do what my intuition and discernment encourage me to. To strengthen my connection to God in order to make the best decisions for myself.
My advice: Relax. Do your best. Embrace your differences, follow your soul, and do what works for you. Consider the opinions of others if you must, but remember that your way is just as important.
Life has no GPS. Nobody knows what they're doing. We're all just trying to make sense of this beautifully chaotic world.
